Research focus
His group runs computer simulations of soft materials, mostly block copolymers, which are polymers made of two chains stuck together that sort themselves into tiny ordered patterns. They study how blending these polymers or grafting them onto nanoparticles controls the structures that form. They’re also building a faster simulation method, and working on applied projects like adding waste plastic to asphalt for roads.
