Research focus
His group builds AI that can reason, not just predict. They combine neural networks with structured knowledge and rules (often called neurosymbolic AI), work on AI agents whose decisions can be checked and explained, and apply causal reasoning to healthcare and manufacturing. Students work on real AI and computer science problems with mentors at the university. Remote work is fully supported, so anyone in the world with a stable internet connection and enough time can join.
