Our why

It started with one question.

Why a group of students started Culturing Curiosities, in three beats.

01 · The project

Our first president was working on a 10th grade science project when it became clear that the materials, equipment, and guidance it needed weren’t available.

The project stalled.

02 · The pattern

If one project could stall that easily for lack of resources, what about students in classrooms with even less?

Looking into it showed this wasn’t a one-off. Curious students everywhere were running into the same problem, in far more places than one school or one science fair.

03 · The fix

Fixing that would take more than one person.

A small group of equally driven peers came together around the same frustration and founded the node system, the partner network, and the fundraising model. The aim was to get real resources to students who would otherwise be stuck where that 10th grade project once was.

Seven students gathered behind a table with drinks and food, in front of a brick wall, smiling at the camera.
